The Xfce 4 Printing Management is part of the Xfce Desktop Environment. It's composed of two applications : xfprint4 and xfprint-manager. xfprint4 provides a graphical frontend for printing and xfprint-manager provides printer management and job queue management (if supported by the printing system backend).
Please note that printer configuration is not part of xfprint. It can only use printing systems that have already been configured properly.
At the time of this writing three printing system backends are available:
The CUPS printing system is currently the most full-featured printing backend. It supports full job queue support and detection of avaialbel printers.
BSD-LPR is the traditional UNIX printing system available on most systems. This backend provides job queuing support, but with slightly less information than the CUPS backend.
This backend simply creates a postscript file that can later be send to any postscript capable printer or printed by using a postscript viewer.
