Download afs-fermi-3.5-5.i386.rpm from ftp://linux1.fnal.gov/linux/611/i386/DONOTEXPORT/storage/ 2. Install with rpm command rpm -ivh afs-fermi-3.5-5.i386.rpm 3. Optionally install one of the "pam" afs updates. See below for a description of each. The afs-fermi-3.5-5.i386.rpm does afstryfirst by default. AFS Pam updates descriptions ---------------------------- In order for automatic logins using AFS, the pam files have to be modified. afs-pam is a collection of pam modules that have already been pre-made for certain situations. afsusefirst Will atempt to get an AFS token using the users NIS password. If this fails, the user will log in, but not get an AFS token. afstryfirst Will atempt to get an AFS token using the users NIS password. If this fails, it will then ask for the AFS password. If that also fails, it usually will not log in the user. useklog Does no automatic afs logins. You have to klog by hand to get a afs token. nonis Is for clusters that do not use an nis password, only an afs password. Troy dawson@fnal.gov Connie csieh@fnal.gov
